6,544 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded today, according to the daily figures published by Santรฉ publique France. This is an increase compared to Monday (4,203 new cases) but a decrease compared to the previous three days (between 7,000 and 9,000 daily cases).

4,960 people are hospitalized according to the Directorate General of Health (DGS), with 490 in the last 24 hours. 574 people have been admitted to intensive care, including 86 in the last 24 hours.

Santรฉ publique France reports 39 virus-related deaths in France over the past 24 hours, bringing the total since the beginning of the epidemic to 30,764, of which 20,289 were within hospitals and 10,475 within social and medical-social establishments (data as of September 7).

The DGS reports 1,898 “clusters,” including those in nursing homes (Ehpad), with 91 new ones since yesterday.

The positivity rate (the proportion of people tested positive compared to the total number of people tested) reached 5.2% between August 30 and September 5.
