In these gloomy times on more than one front, there is a real need for clarity about what the future, at least the near future, holds for us.
Providing direction, in the absence of certainty, will be the main theme of the City Council meeting being held this morning (via videoconference). The Mayor of Nice announces “offensive and courageous Budgetary Directions that support the economy, employment, and household purchasing power without increasing taxes and that are in line with the recovery plan’s directions, with a high level of investment (500 million over the period 2021-2026).”
Other key points on the agenda include the vaccination policy, a comprehensive support plan for those vulnerable due to the crisis, students, culture, seniors, social cohesion, and the diverse and varied commitments in terms of environment, security, culture, and sports.
