Antibes Juan-les-Pins, a sporty and Olympic city, actively participates in the Olympic and Paralympic Week. Antibes Juan-les-Pins will live to the rhythm of the Olympic and Paralympic Week with numerous activities in schools and leisure centers.
As part of Paris 2024, this week is jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry responsible for Sports, and the French sports movement.
For several decades, Antibes Juan-les-Pins has been considered one of the most athletic municipalities in France, with more than 18,400 registered athletes recorded in 2019, representing over 22% of the population. Led by 63 high-level athletes registered in a club in Antibes and supported by the 162 clubs or associations, the City of Antibes Juan-les-Pins offers its residents a very wide choice of disciplines (134) within more than 200,000 square meters of sports spaces open to the athletic public.
Antibes Juan-les-Pins also has many structures related to sports, such as the Regional Center for Physical and Sports Education (CREPS PACA of Antibes) or the Medico-Sports Center.
Olympic champions and medalists are mobilizing to meet the children of the schools in Antibes Juan-les-Pins throughout the week.
Led by high-level athletes, (swimmer Alain Bernard, 4 Olympic medals including 2 gold in Beijing in 2008 and London in 2012; gymnast Hamilton Sabot, bronze medalist at the London Olympics in 2012, swimmer Elodie Lorandi, 7 medals at the Paralympics; shooters Jean Quiquampoix, silver medalist in the 25m rapid fire pistol, and Alexis Raynaud, bronze medalist in the 50m 3 positions rifle, at the Rio 2016 Olympics) and supported by numerous clubs or associations, Antibes Juan-les-Pins offers its residents a very wide choice of disciplines.
