The storm “Alex” will reach Nice tomorrow mid-morning. The city council has taken measures in coordination with the prefecture. This is in addition to the closure of all schools in the department and the cancellation of school transport services.
In view of the development of the weather phenomenon announced by Météo France, the city council has decided to take measures starting this evening:
– Closure of all parks and gardens from 9 PM tonight until further notice. All operators of snack bars, restrooms, or play areas must cease their activities during the closure of parks and gardens.
– Prohibition of access to beaches and the coastal path.
– Outdoor sports fields and all recycling centers will also be closed.
– Cancellation of various household waste collection rounds tomorrow, Friday, October 2.
The city council urges business managers to promote telecommuting for employees to limit everyone’s travel to the strictly necessary.
Furthermore, the Communal Command Post will be activated from 6 AM.
As a reminder, Météo France has placed the Alpes-Maritimes department on orange alert for thunderstorms from 8 AM and then orange alert for rain-flooding starting at 10 AM. A transition to red alert cannot be ruled out during the day depending on the evolution of the intensity of the storm “Alex,” which will form in Brittany tonight.
