On Saturday, the body of a 45-year-old woman was found in the trunk of a car; her ex-partner and her eldest son were taken into custody.
This is the third femicide of the year 2022. On Saturday evening, around 10 PM, the lifeless body of Lisa T. was found in the trunk of her 24-year-old son’s car.
On Sunday evening, the prosecutor revealed that the case was first reported by the victim’s daughter, before her ex-partner came to turn himself in at the Auvare barracks later that evening.
“He came to report that he had a fight with his wife and did not know what condition she was in,” stated the deputy public prosecutor. The 60-year-old man then led the police to the victim’s body.
Her ex-partner, with whom she had three children, and her eldest son were immediately placed in custody. The prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation for “intentional homicide by a partner” and the investigation has been entrusted to the criminal brigade of the departmental security service.
According to the initial forensic findings, the death was caused by strangulation and the motive for the crime has not yet been determined.
Christian Estrosi reacted to this tragedy on Twitter and wished to “denounce the horror of this murder” and also stated that the fight against this violence should become “a major cause for the year 2022.”
This tragedy is already the 3rd femicide on this January 1st in our country. The fight and the increase in penalties against intra-family violence, which continues to rise, must become a major cause for the year 2022.
