Following the announcements by Prime Minister Jean Castex, the first Pet Salon in Nice, which was supposed to take place this weekend at the Palais des Expositions, has been canceled. A great disappointment for the organizers and animal lovers.
Another event canceled. Cancellations continue unabated in the Alpes-Maritimes and throughout the French territory. After Jean Castex’s announcements this Thursday, indicating the implementation of a curfew across the 06 area, the Pet Salon has been canceled. An event that was supposed to be held from Saturday to Sunday this week at the Palais des Expositions in Nice.
“Following the announcement by Jean Castex, we are unfortunately obliged to cancel our Pet Salon scheduled for this weekend at the Palais des Expositions. The prefecture and the Nice city hall were on our side until tonight, but they can do nothing against the government. We have no words… We are sad. We are really sorry about this situation,” regret the organizers in a message posted on the official Facebook page of the salon.
In this context of a state of health emergency, establishments open to the public (ERP) of category T, corresponding to exhibition halls, trade fairs, or shows of a temporary nature, as the Nice Palais des Expositions is considered, cannot be open to the public throughout the day. Therefore, the Pet Salon had no choice but to be canceled. Bad news that does not please the visitors who wanted to attend the event.
“I am upset for the visitors and for you who have been organizing all this for months… Courage to all. Hopefully, we will be able to see this salon later,” read some comments, although some remain optimistic: “we are all devastated by the situation, which is likely to cause the downfall of many small businesses. We hope this salon can take place later. Thank you for this organization and all the preparatory work.”
For now, no future date has been announced. We will have to wait a while longer to attend the four-legged companions’ salon.
