As part of the Olympic and Paralympic week, the city of Beausoleil, certified Terre de Jeux 2024, and Active and Sportive City, participated in a Challenge organized by Terre de Jeux 2024. Among more than 250 projects submitted nationwide, nine cities were selected, including Beausoleil.
This Friday, the five primary schools and the community college received the Olympic and Paralympic flags brought by the representative from Paris 2024, with the presence of Olympic champion รmilie Fer (kayak slalom London 2012) in the morning at the Devens sports complex and Paralympic bronze medalist Florent Marais (para-swimming Tokyo 2020) in the afternoon.
These school meetings provided an opportunity to discuss the universality of Olympism and its values: Excellence, Friendship, and Respect are closely related to the values of the French Republic of Liberty, Equality, Fraternity, and also of Solidarity during this pandemic period.
In a city as cosmopolitan as Beausoleil, all these values are of great importance in the pursuit of better living together, a priority for the Municipality.
