According to the Ministry of Health, 52,518 new cases have been detected since yesterday. The test positivity rate now stands at 20.6%, compared to 20.4% yesterday.
Health authorities have also indicated that 418 people have died in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 37,435 since the beginning of the epidemic in the country.
The number of daily deaths in hospitals had not been this high since April 20.
According to the ministry, 2,547 new people have been hospitalized since yesterday. In total, 25,143 patients are currently in hospitals in France due to Covid-19 contamination. Among them, 3,730 are being treated in intensive care units, which is 152 more people than yesterday. The number of patients in intensive care exceeds 3,700 for the first time since May 3.
Additionally, Public Health France indicates that 2,448 clusters are still under investigation in the country, including 649 in nursing homes.
In the Alpes-Maritimes, in the last 24 hours, the count has recorded eight new deaths. However, 292 people are currently hospitalized (-8). This figure is decreasing, as is the number of people in intensive care – 55 (-4).
