From a pixelated world to a realistic world
The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art presents visitors with a video installation by filmmaker Harun Farocki.
“Parallele I-IV” is one of his latest works and offers an analysis of the lightning-fast history of video games. Upon entering the gallery, you encounter all the games, whether old or new.
Through his projections, we can see the evolution of his iconography and advancements from the creation of a pixelated and binary world to an extremely realistic virtual world, notably GTA IV to GTA V and Mafia II.
As part of this collaboration with Movimenta, the first biennale of the city of Niceโs image, Harun Farockiโs work allows us to explore the power of virtual images, the fascination with technology, and remembrances for video game fans.
