To combat the spread of COVID-19, the Departmental Council of Alpes-Maritimes has decided to order 100,000 antigen tests which will be offered to directors of nursing homes and Home Care Services to protect the most vulnerable.
These 100,000 antigen tests, with results available in less than 30 minutes, are expected to help break the chains of infection among this vulnerable group by identifying asymptomatic carriers who may come into contact with them and who significantly spread the virus.
“In the face of the second wave of COVID-19, I want nursing homes and Home Care Services to have the means to protect their senior residents or those receiving home assistance, as well as their own employees and all visitors or families in contact with these seniors,” commented Charles Ange Ginรฉsy.
