For the second consecutive week, prison guards are mobilized. The unions have called for a “total blockade” of the 188 institutions in France for a renewable movement “until the government hears their demands,” warned the leaders of the CGT and FO.
These men and women are at the front line every day. For society, for us citizens who are comfortably sheltered.
Faced with the irresponsible overpopulation of prisons (right-left: a draw), the demagogic fear of local elected officials who do not want to upset their populations (everyone wants prisons, but far from home…) and, it must be said, the indifference of public opinion, they are quite alone, the prison guards.
And for some time now, facing Islamists, their lives have been in danger for a pittance of a salary.
To these public servants who bear the responsibility of an essential public service of the Republic, we must give the necessary means but even more: our recognition!
