If the coronavirus epidemic continues to slow down in France, its human toll keeps rising. 458 people have died from Covid-19 since yesterday, bringing the total to 50,237 victims, including those who have died in nursing homes and medical-social establishments.

9,155 new cases have been detected in the last 24 hours, announced Public Health France and the Ministry of Health on Tuesday, November 24. On Monday, due to the closure of laboratories over the weekend, 4,452 people were reported positive. In total, 12,174 new hospitalizations have been recorded in the last seven days, including 1,833 in intensive care.

The positivity rate continues to decrease: as of Monday, it stands at 13.1%. There are 3,724 “clusters,” or epidemiological outbreaks, under investigation, including 1,589 in nursing homes.

One hundred departments, including the Alpes-Maritimes, are in a situation of high vulnerability.
