“Dixit Malraux”: an urban exhibition in Villeneuve Loubet!

Latest News

While waiting for the reopening of the museums, the cultural service of Villeneuve-Loubet is offering an outdoor exhibition, bringing art to the public.

On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of André Malraux’s passing, the 25th anniversary of the transfer of his ashes to the Pantheon, and the 15th anniversary of the inauguration of the André Malraux Cultural Space.

An Urban Exhibition

From March 24 to April 7, 2021, the most beautiful insights of André Malraux will adorn the urban furniture panels, transforming the city into a true open-air gallery. Captivating quotes that resonate and provoke thought will take over the public domain, offering pedestrians and drivers literary prose with no other intention than to inspire reflection. The exhibition pays tribute to the great ideal of the first-ever Minister of Cultural Affairs: the democratization of culture.

Malraux’s Thought Accessible to the Greatest Number!

This cultural initiative in the outdoor environment aims to familiarize the public with the thought of this intellectual genius, through his quotes and “impactful” expressions, constructed like slogans and displayed on advertising panels.

If the man possessed a sense of beauty, adventure, politics, and storytelling, his flair for eloquent expressions is famous. However, stemming from a serious, even severe author, André Malraux’s spirit and philosophy manage to reach the spectator thanks to the inspired layout by Patrice Chaminade: a joyful, colorful, modern, and quirky style accompanied by typography akin to graffiti and “street art,” perfectly aligning with this urban exhibition.
