The passing of Charles Marchetti, at the age of 75, was met with a sense of sadness by all soccer enthusiasts.
As a goalkeeper, he defended the Nice jersey 137 times between 1963 and 1967, and then from 1968 to 1972, across all competitions.
An iconic figure of Cavigal de Nice, his formative club, he also had a stadium in the heart of the Saint-Roch district named after him in 2010.
OGC Nice announced that the match against Lokomotiv Moscow, Thursday, February 15, will be dedicated to him.
