Official statistics report 13,947 infections in 24 hours, bringing the total to 2,365,319 cases since the start of the pandemic. The seven-day average is around 10,400 cases.
However, the number of patients in intensive care (i.e., the most severe cases) is decreasing, at 2,851. There are 24,948 patients hospitalized due to Covid, almost as many as Friday (24,943).
Public Health France reported 199 Covid-19 related deaths over the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll in France to 57,761. The positivity rate (proportion of positive tests compared to the total number of tests) remained stable compared to the previous day, at 6.3%.
