A public institution dedicated to contemporary creation for over forty years, bringing together a higher art school, an art center, a library, and an artist residency, Villa Arson invites all audiences, including young people interested in art studies as well as the curious and enthusiasts, to this annual event which will take place this Friday and Saturday from 1 PM to 6 PM.
These days provide a unique opportunity for young people interested in art studies to meet with students and the Villa Arson team, who are available to provide information about the curriculum, help with choosing a direction, and assist future candidates in their preparation and administrative procedures to join the school.
The program includes reception and information on art studies, discovery tours of the school’s workshops accompanied by the students; meetings and conferences with the teaching staff; exhibitions โ work displays, workshop presentations, video screenings; exploration of the library, and a tour focusing on the history and architecture of Villa Arson, among other activities.
Student-led tours will offer discoveries around the institution and its technical workshops: the publishing-photography center (lithography, screen printing, engraving, etc.), the sculpture, installation and ceramics center, the painting and drawing center, the digital center (graphic design, video, sound, etc.).
Q&A sessions with the academic director and teaching team will introduce the institution, the teaching program, pedagogical orientations, and the degrees awarded (which are recognized at the master’s level).
It will also be possible to visit the library, a successor of the former Nice School of Decorative Arts and dedicated to contemporary creation for several decades, this library brings together an extensive and specialized collection. As a research tool for students, it is also open to researchers and is an “associated library” of the BMVR of Nice and UCA โ University Cรดte d’Azur.
Finally, one can also visit Villa Arson with a focus on history and architecture, for heritage enthusiasts and those wishing to deepen their knowledge of the site.
