Mont Boron, a sought-after holiday destination in the libraries of Nice

Since its inauguration at the Heritage Center โ€“ The Senate on June 2, 2007, the exhibition โ€œMount Boron, a Resort in Sight!โ€, dedicated to the history and architecture of Mount Boron, has attracted more than 10,000 visitors.

This successful traveling exhibition can be seen again in the libraries of the city of Nice until April 30.

This exhibition will transport visitors to Mount Boron hill, located on the cape of Nice, where the hill of Mont Boron began to urbanize from the mid-19th century.

Starting in 1856, the development of this area subject to military constraints began to change with the construction of the vast domain of the “Chรขteau de l’Anglais.”

This emerging residence marks the advent of Nice’s resort architecture.

It was at this time that figures from the Second Empire, such as Baron Haussmann and banker Louis Frรฉmy, built their villas in beautiful landscaped parks.

In 2016, this area was selected by the General Inventory of Cultural Heritage for the Inventory of the Resort Heritage of the City of Nice.
