The selection for the 2022 Cannes Film Festival finally revealed

On Thursday, April 14, Pierre Lescure and Thierry Frémaux unveiled the Official Selection for the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival at UGC Normandie in Paris.


Among the films presented, it is Z (comme Z) directed by Michel Hazanavicius that will open the event. A remake of the Japanese film One Cut of the Dead, this zombie comedy should be enough to kick off a groundbreaking 75th edition.


As for the films in competition, Nice Premium highlights three promising films
Crimes of the Future

Directed by David Cronenberg, this thriller is already making waves just with its trailer. Featuring Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux, and Kristen Stewart, the film will depict the mutations of the human body in a new environment.


Brother and Sister

Two siblings, separated by life, cross paths again upon the death of their parents. To portray these protagonists, director Arnaud Desplechin relied on Marion Cotillard, Melvil Poupaud, and Patrick Timsit.

Tori and Lokita

This drama, directed by the Dardenne brothers, Jean-Pierre and Luc, tells the story of two exiles from Africa whose unbreakable friendship will be put to the test as they settle in Belgium.

As for the films out of competition, it’s tough to choose among the five “fine vintages” on the schedule…

One thing is certain, November, directed by Cédric Jimenez, is expected to leave the audience captivated. Featuring Jean Dujardin, Anaïs Demoustier, and Sandrine Kiberlain, this thriller revisits the police manhunt that followed the November 13, 2015, attacks.
