According to Santé Publique France, 13,933 new cases of infections have been recorded this Thursday since the previous day. Since Wednesday, 499 people have been admitted to the hospital due to their Covid-19 infection.
In total, 17,941 patients are still hospitalized. There were 18,593 on Wednesday, indicating that the number of infections is declining in France.
This figure, which exceeded 31,000 cases at the height of the third wave in mid-April, dropped below 20,000 on Saturday for the first time since October 27.
146 people have died in the last 24 hours as a result of the virus. In total, since the beginning of the epidemic, 108,784 people have lost their lives in France due to Covid-19.
Altogether, 3,206 people are currently suffering from a severe form of the disease requiring care in these specialized services. This is the lowest level since February 14. There were 3,330 on Wednesday and 3,769 a week ago.
The vaccination campaign continues to gain momentum. According to the daily report from the Ministry of Health, in the past 24 hours, 685,589 people have received a vaccine dose against the coronavirus.
In detail, 24,564,418 people have received at least one injection since the start of the campaign, corresponding to 36.7% of the total population and 46.8% of the adult population. Furthermore, 10,321,847 people have received two injections.
