20 days before the opening of the Cannes Festival, the jury is now known.

This Tuesday, April 26, the jury of the world’s largest film festival was introduced.

It is the French actor Vincent Lindon who is the president of the jury for this 75th edition of the festival. It is the first time in 13 years that a French cinema personality has been appointed as the head of the jury since Isabelle Huppert in 2009.

โ€œIt is a tremendous honor, and a great pride to be entrusted, amid the turmoil of the many events we are experiencing in the world, with the splendid and heavy task of presiding over the Jury of the 75th Cannes International Film Festival.
With my Jury, we will strive to take the best care of the films of the future, which all carry the same secret hope of courage, loyalty, and freedom; their mission is to move the greatest number of women and men by speaking to them about their shared wounds and joys. Culture helps the human soul to rise and hope for tomorrow.โ€

The one who has won 5 Cรฉsar awards for best actor in his career will be surrounded by 8 other jurors, four women and four men:

The British Rebecca Hall (actress, producer, screenwriter, director), the Indian Deepika Padukone (actress and producer), the Swedish Noomi Rapace (actress), the Italian Jasmine Trinca (actress and director), the Iranian Asghar Farhadi (director, producer, screenwriter), the French Ladj Ly (director, screenwriter, actor, producer), the American Jeff Nichols (director and screenwriter), and the Norwegian Joachim Trier (director and screenwriter).
