The decline of the epidemic has been consistent for several weeks, and today’s figures do not contradict this trend.
The incidence rate, averaging 50.1 between June 3 and June 9, in the Alpes-Maritimes is 26, has reached its lowest point since August 26, 2020, and the positivity rate has dropped to 1.8%, the lowest since August 6, 2020.
The pressure in hospitals is gradually decreasing. In critical care units, which treat patients suffering from a severe form of the disease, 2,110 patients are currently receiving care. France had not fallen below this level since last October 19.
More broadly, 12,496 covid-19 patients are currently being treated in the country’s hospitals. There were 14,532 last week.
In the past 24 hours, 34 more people have died from an infection. Regarding infections, 3,972 new covid-19 infections have been detected in the last 24 hours, compared to 6,654 last week.
