Azurean tourism is setting records.

The fashion among tourism operators is to lament: regarding the climate, if there is sunshine, they ask for a little rain to water things and if it rains for three days, oh how can we do without the sun.

Letโ€™s not talk about taxes and other charges, always excessive.

And the government (whether right or left), always deaf and especially predatory.

In short, nothing ever goes well and even less as it should.

In fact, it is a comedy that repeats endlessly and will continue over time.

Fortunately, the statistics bring, with their truth, a breath of fresh air… and the confirmation that… as long as there is life, there is hope!

Come on, a little more effort and weโ€™ll be rewarded with a smile!

According to CRT Cรดte dโ€™Azur, which published its report, in 2017, foreign visitors to the Cรดte dโ€™Azur, across all types of accommodations, increased by 5%, reaching an absolute maximum of 5.8 million stays.

This performance constitutes a historic record, the last being reached (at 5.6 million) in 2000 and 2015. Foreign stays by plane even increased by 14% in 2017, reaching 2 million.

In the hotel industry, the average annual occupancy rate stood at 62% last year, a gain of 2.8 points compared to 2016, with a 5% increase in overnight stays, approaching the 10 million overnight mark for the first time since 2002.

According to David Lisnard, President of CRT Cรดte dโ€™Azur France: “The year 2017 ended with a very positive outcome for the Cรดte dโ€™Azur France destination.”

Good news: “The trend continues at the beginning of 2018.” continues David Lisnard.

In fact, according to statistics, the increase in tourist visits this winter season is confirmed, particularly regarding the growth of the foreign clientele, whose paid overnight stays jumped by 11% in January and 13% in February.
