Anne Fontaine has succeeded in creating a political comedy featuring Nicolas and Franรงois, former presidents of the Republic. Fictional characters?
Nicolas travels to Corrรจze to persuade Franรงois to join him in an electoral campaign. Together, they will stand against the “fascist threat” and return to the spotlight.
This film is delightfully subtle, with dialogues leading to many misunderstandings.
As for the actors, they never overdo it. Jean Dujardin evokes rather than imitates, Grรฉgory Gadebois is very accurate, and their partners, portrayed to perfection by Pascale Arbillot and Doria Tillier, form an endearing quartet.
