Nice will host, from this Saturday to May 6, Nice UltiMed, a race that will bring together for the first time in the heart of the Mediterranean some of the world’s largest offshore racing boats, the Ultim trimarans.
Designed for circumnavigations, they are piloted by the best current skippers (Armel Le Cléac’h, Thomas Coville, Yves Le Blévec, and Francis Joyon).
A unique event in a magnificent setting for these giants that have never come together in the heart of the Mediterranean before, designed and imagined to share the extraordinary with the Mediterranean public.
Meet at the Rauba Capeù promontory, between the Promenade des Anglais and the Port, on Wednesday, May 2, for a spectacular and memorable lunch break!
At 13:02, the maxi-trimarans will cross the starting line marked between the luxury cruise ship The World and a totem installed at the end of the promontory. Very close to the shore, the giants of the seas will offer a unique spectacle before the public’s eyes.
Dive into the heart of Nice UltiMed
A free exhibition, open to everyone and specially designed for the event, will offer a total immersion into the world of racing (approximately 1 hour for a complete visit).
To be discovered on the Promenade des Anglais, Quai des Etats-Unis starting this morning.
After visiting the Discovery Expo, animations set up along the Promenade des Anglais will lead spectators to the Port where they can admire the giant trimarans at Quai Infernet.
Throughout this Saturday, the public will be able to see these exceptional boats up close, meet the crews, and understand their functioning thanks to educational panels, speaker comments, and interviews with the skippers and their team.
