The inauguration of the maintenance center marks a new step towards the big day of the inauguration of tram line 2.

Latest News

At the end of this month, the aerial section of Line 2 will begin service between the Var plain and the Magnan intersection.

A new step towards the much-anticipated day was the official inauguration of the maintenance center named after Charles Ginésy*, located beyond the Charles Erhmann stadium and very close to the 630-space park-and-ride facility.

This Center, with its workshop and washing station, its large transparent walls, its high-tech equipment, and its green roof, represents all the innovations and technical challenges.

“This Center is an architectural, technological, and ecological achievement,” exclaimed the President of the Metropolis with admiration, already savoring his personal success!

For him, “on June 30, a new adventure will begin: the connection will then be made between the East and the West, between the port, the airport, the new neighborhoods, and the new activities in the Var plain.’*

However, the President of the Metropolis does not intend to stop there: the Charles-Ginésy maintenance center will also be a strategic location for the new challenges in the coming years, already announced but which Christian Estrosi never misses an opportunity to reiterate:

– the continuation of the route along the EcoVallée to Carros, with a multimodal hub connected to the Provence Railways, at the level of the Manda bridge.

– the crossing of the Var with service to Saint-Laurent-du-Var and Cagnes-sur-Mer.

Finally, a piece of good news: the European Union has granted new and significant funding of over 2 million euros as part of strengthening the economic and social cohesion of the territories.
