OGC Nice – Dijon FCO: the Gym in search of victory

Latest News

Second home match of the season for the Gym, which hosts Dijon, winner of its first two Ligue 1 matches. A victory would allow the Eagles to kickstart their season.

DIJON IS SOLID

The 5th best attack (55 goals) of 2017-2018 has started the new campaign with a bang. Two matches and already two wins: 2-1 at Montpellier and 2-0 against Nantes.

Led by the striker and captain, Júlio Tavares (3 goals in 2018-19), the team from the city of the Dukes plays mainly on the same foundations as last season: Rosier, Yambéré, Haddadi at the back, Amalfitano, Sammaritano, Abeid in the midfield, and Tavares accompanied by Jeannot up front. Internally, Wesley Lautoa and the young Enzo Loiodice (trained at the club) are gradually settling into their respective positions, in central defense and midfield.

Only one real change, the goalkeeper position. The arrival of Rúnar Rúnarsson compensates for the departure of Baptiste Reynet (235 appearances) to Téfécé.

Olivier Dall’Oglio (248 matches at the helm of Dijon) has nevertheless sought some reinforcements. Midfielder Naïm Sliti, loaned to DFCO last season, now belongs to the Burgundians. Finally, Yoann Gourcuff (attacking midfielder, formerly Rennes) and Mickaël Alphonse (right back, formerly Sochaux), recruited this summer (like Aguerd, Keita, and Coulibaly), will also contribute to the building.

THE REFEREE

Willy Delajod will officiate during the second home reception of the season. On August 11th last year, he became the youngest official (25 years) to referee a Ligue 1 match (Lille 3 – 1 Rennes).

Promoted to Ligue 1 this season, the central referee will be assisted by Cyril Mugnier, Gilles Lang, and Sylvain Palhies.
