The collapse of the Genoa bridge has once again highlighted, beyond the technical causes and responsibilities, the danger of a transportation model that leaves a nearly exclusive role to heavy trucks.
Taking advantage of this heightened moment of sensitivity, Christian Estrosi announced that he will convene authorities and French and Italian transport stakeholders in Nice on October 4th for a major consultation to ensure that common initiatives are taken.
The South Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and Liguria Regions, the French and Italian transport federations, the chambers of commerce, and the relevant State services will exchange ideas to propose alternative solutions at local, national, and European levels.
