Jacques Mézard, Minister of Territorial Cohesion, was in the Alpes Maritimes this Friday to explore the Eco Valley renovation project, the Moulins district, and the real estate housing observatory in Grasse.
The Minister, accompanied by Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice – President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis – and Dominique Estrosi-Sassone, Senator – Departmental Counselor – visited the Moulins district yesterday morning, starting from Magnan, via the new tramway.
He was able to observe the transformations initiated thanks to the ANRU (National Agency for Urban Renovation) to improve the living conditions of the residents in this area of 10,000 inhabitants. The Moulins district has benefited from the first urban renovation program since 2009, with a total investment amount of 215 million euros. The Minister announced that the NPRU (New Urban Renovation Program) will allocate an additional 10 billion euros over the coming years (2027-2032).
The visit continued at the site of the « Eco Valley » National Interest Operation project. The delegation was able to visit the future apprenticeship campus, the IMREED building, Palazzo Méridia, Joia, concluding the morning at La Pléiade, a building designed by architect Jean Nouvel. Nice Eco Valley aims to be an exemplary project for invigorating the territory with the stated goal of creating 50,000 jobs.
In the afternoon, the Minister of Territorial Cohesion signed the Action Heart of the City framework agreement of the commune of Grasse with the Mayor, Jérôme Viaud, who had the opportunity to present the project for the renovation and revitalization of Grasse’s city center during his previous visit to the Alpes-Maritimes on March 13th.
Finally, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Nice Côte d’Azur Housing Real Estate Observatory, the Minister presented the orientations of the Elan bill (Evolution of Housing, Development and Digital) alongside Senator Dominique Estrosi-Sassone, rapporteur of the bill in the Senate.
