Inauguration of the Rainbow Square in Les Moulins

Latest News

Senator Dominique Estrosi Sassone—President of the “Housing, Urban Renewal and Social Cohesion” committee at the City Council—inaugurated a new public space at Les Moulins yesterday afternoon: the Arc-en-Ciel square.

As part of the Local Urban Management (G.U.P.) of urban renewal projects, residents and institutional and associative stakeholders in the neighborhood are regularly invited to participate in informational and discussion sessions. On these occasions, they can give their opinion on certain projects and propose new solutions or actions to undertake. This was the case yesterday afternoon, on the forecourt of the Saint-Augustin pool, in the presence of Dominique Estrosi-Sassone for the inauguration of the Arc-en-Ciel square.

In the heart of the Les Moulins neighborhood, the forecourt of the pool has been rehabilitated and had roadwork done in the surroundings. This meeting place, where WiFi is free, is adorned with trees and benches and is now named “Arc-en-Ciel square.” Several names had been proposed for a vote by the GUP group responsible for public spaces. Nearly 750 ballots were submitted at different sites in the neighborhood.

Based on the residents’ proposals, other developments aimed at improving the living environment for all generations frequenting this place have been carried out: hopscotch, a snail pattern, and labyrinths are painted on the ground. Children and adults from the neighborhood drew these shapes on the square to further enliven this friendly space.
