Aquarius: from Muselier to Ciotti, LR is a fraud
Yesterday (the day before yesterday, editor’s note), LR deputy Eric Ciotti urged the government to refuse the arrival of the Aquarius, once again loaded with illegal migrants, in Marseille.
An astonishing position, as last June, when I proposed to the LR-led regional executive to affirm the refusal to welcome this same Aquarius in the ports of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, the LR regional councilors voted against my proposal… and unanimously!
On that occasion, LR Vice-President Caroline Pozmentier even replied to me with a plea that Cédric Herrou would not have disowned, stating: “You play on hatred,” “You hope that France takes the same direction as Italy, we will not let it happen,” “Should we let them drown?” and “You are retrograde.”
Questioned on RTL this morning, Renaud Muselier likely appeared more consistent than Eric Ciotti by declaring, “Now, it arrives in Marseille (…) we will still need to welcome them.”
Through this stance, the LR MEP and president of the PACA region affirms himself even more lenient in the face of uncontrolled and enforced immigration than the Macronist government. A challenge, which has the merit of once again revealing the constant double-talk of LR.
A double-talk that never withstands close examination for long, as evidenced by LR votes both in the European Parliament (for migrant quotas and distribution) and the PACA Regional Council.
