Through this collaboration, new local actors will be able to become ambassadors for biodiversity conservation by serving as links for Natura 2000 in their area.
Through this voluntary initiative, the owners of the holiday cottages can gain knowledge about biodiversity to promote it to their guests, thanks to awareness-raising or communication tools implemented by the Metropolis.
Subsequently, collaboration for these cottages to become “ecogîtes” could be considered. This involves the owner installing equipment that contributes to the enhancement of biodiversity on their land.
This initiative is being tested with 4 cottages in Saint-Etienne-de-Tinée, Roquebillière, and Colomars and will be extended to other establishments in 2019.
