The Futurum association aims to develop and encourage “futuristic” events in the world of art and science. Year after year, it has allowed its members to attend numerous and original initiatives such as exclusive gala evenings or private tours in significant museums, always with the same goal: to discover and appreciate artists capable of combining their talent with innovative technologies.
Futurum Awards have been awarded 6 times to date to individuals who came to share their experiences during an exceptional evening attended by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, Albert II of Monaco, the Honorary President of the association.
After the success of the 2017 award, given to American sculptor Dale Chihuly, the Board of Directors of the associationโcomprising Mrs. Al Abood (President), Rรฉgis Bergonzi (Vice-President), Lars H. Ericson (Secretary-General), and Mahmoud Al Abood (Treasurer)โawarded the prestigious 2018 prize to English photographer Mark Mawson, who received it from the hands of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco during a ceremony held recently in a venue in the Principality.
“Once again, choosing the winner was not easy,” emphasized the President, Mrs. Al Abood. “We had about ten candidates, all particularly brilliant and creators of works made using new technologies. Among them, Mawson’s talent, his colors, and his ability to interpret abstract concepts through the use of innovative techniques won us over. That is why I am sincerely happy to welcome him to Monaco and present some of his creations during this unforgettable evening.”
