What is the Grande Collecte?

Organized by the Archives de France in partnership with the National Library of France, the Grande Collecte is a national initiative calling on all French citizens to present or submit their personal or family papers to the event’s partner institutions. Once submitted, some of these documents are digitized and put online.


On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the armistice of November 11, 1918, the Archives de France and the Mission of the Centenary of the First World War are organizing a final Grande Collecte dedicated to the Great War.

Do you have documents concerning the First World War? Do you wish to contribute them to enrich the collective memory? Bring them to the Archives Nice Cรดte dโ€™Azur!

The archivists at the Fabron-Palais de Marbre site are welcoming donations of original documents* related to the War from the citizens of Nice, such as campaign journals, correspondence from the front, etc., from Monday, November 5 to Friday, November 9, from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.
