In the continuation of Reading for All, Theater for All has been strengthening the policy of preventing illiteracy in schools since 2016.
This initiative relies on the presence of local companies and artists or famous friends of theater and cinema.
It aims to introduce students from 4th and 5th grade, as well as middle and high school students, to the magic of theater, the richness of its interpretations, and its power to captivate, to instill in them a love for theatrical literature.
In this context, the company La Saéta will perform in the schools of Nice around the Tales of the Maneki-Neko: The Kamishibai.
From this short Japanese tale, students will learn the art of kamishibai, a paper theater where the storyteller narrates while displaying illustrations. Through work on voice, composition, imagination, and illustrations, they will discover various aspects of Japanese culture (theater, dance, martial arts, masks, calligraphy, origami…).
