Youth Mission: an initiative in favor of employment for unskilled young people

Latest News

Yesterday morning, at the Mediterranean University Center, a partnership was signed for the professional integration of young people in PACA between the local missions Nice Côte d’Azur/East 06 and eight temp agencies, in the presence of about ten young individuals.

Since its national launch in June 2014, Mission Jeune has responded to a single objective: to help unqualified young beneficiaries of the Youth Guarantee access employment. Mission Jeune, whose operational deployment is ensured by FAF.TT, is realized through the establishment of a strengthened partnership between the temp agencies, local missions, and the entirety of local employment and training actors.

Yesterday at noon, two local missions and nine employment agencies incorporated the Mission Jeunes initiative in the Alpes-Maritimes. About ten young people present at the CUM benefited from employment contracts.

For Dominique Estrosi Sassone, Senator and President of the Local Mission Nice Côte d’Azur: “the signing of these agreements with the Training Insurance Fund for Temporary Work, Prism’emploi, and eight other temp agencies aims to co-construct individualized paths for young temporary workers to facilitate their integration into the job market.”

The objective therefore; to prepare young people to access employment, to use temp assignments as a first professional experience, and to ensure the continuity of career paths by taking into account all the barriers to employment access. Each young individual thus benefits from a personalized pathway that combines temp assignments, training, and enhanced support.

“A significant opportunity, and the chance to have a first contact with the working world” assures Solange Bernard, Vice-President of the Local Mission.

According to Fabrice Greffet, Regional President of Prism’emploi: “142 partnerships with 17 local missions for 2,000 young people to complete 5,000 temp assignments” have taken place. There are currently 728 employment agencies in PACA for 4,200 temporary workers. This represents 6.2% of temp employment in France, with a 36% increase in temporary and permanent hires compared to last year. “Temporary work is a success and is becoming essential” assures the President of Prism’emploi.

At a national level, Mission Jeune has enabled more than 1,800 unqualified young people to be supported in their professional journeys. Building on this success, the national Mission Jeune agreement was renewed in March 2018.
