The “yellow vests” protests in Nice

Latest News

The “yellow vests” movement has been ongoing since November 17 and is organizing a new day of demonstrations across France on Saturday, December 1. Few of these gatherings are officially declared to the prefecture, but the Antibes, Nice, and Cagnes-sur-Mer tollbooths are already targeted.

The Antibes tollbooth at the entrance of the A8 motorway is expected to be the site of a “yellow vests” gathering starting at 11 a.m. This was announced by the STT-PATS firefighters’ union, which declared its support for the movement last Tuesday.

The “yellow vests” are also expected to be present in Nice this Saturday. The prefecture has confirmed that a demonstration will take place in Nice.

The crowd is expected to set off from the Albert 1st garden, in Nice, in the morning and follow the Promenade des Anglais towards Cagnes-sur-Mer, where demonstrators are expected to finish their march in front of the racecourse.

Certain student associations are also calling for a demonstration at 11 a.m., at Place Masséna.
