The Nice native Alizé Cornet was visiting Nice this Monday. She met with the students of ISEFAC Bachelor in Nice, alongside her agent and partner Michael Kuzaj. An opportunity for her to reflect on a highly emotional career.
“I started playing tennis at the age of four at the Tennis Club des Arènes de Cimiez, in Nice, with my brother Sébastien. In 2004, I won the title of French champion for ages 13-14 and, in 2005, the title of European champion for ages 15-16”. In 2008, the Nice native reached the top 20 WTA. In 2009, she achieved an eleventh place worldwide. “The crowning achievement of my career”. Alizé Cornet then went on to win nine titles on the WTA circuit (six in singles and three in doubles).
“Reaching such a high level at such a young age was really difficult to manage. The pressure and intensity are indescribable”. Joys, disappointments, anecdotes; for nearly two hours, the champion, alongside her agent, reflected on her career. Contract management, anti-doping controls, and the daily life of a top-level athlete all contributed to a very informative conference.
Alizé Cornet’s Nice LTC secured its fourth victory against Primrise (5-1) this Sunday in the DN1A women’s league and celebrated its promotion to the First Division. A first for the Azurean club!
