Latest News

The 8th edition of the Ultra-Trail Côte d’Azur Mercantour will start this Friday at 7 PM on Quai Albert 1er in Monaco.

Designed between the Mediterranean Sea, the balconies of the French Riviera, and the Mercantour massif, the Ultra-Trail Côte d’Azur Mercantour will offer 8 different race formats: the 125km solo, the 125km relay, the 95km solo, the Skyultra – 75km, the Skymarathon – 50km, the Skyrace du Mercantour – 10km, the Vésubienne – 10km, and the Mare-Montana – 5km.

The highlight of this edition will undoubtedly be the magnificent 125km route from Monaco to Saint-Martin-Vésubie, at the gates of the Mercantour National Park.

“La Maremontana” will also be an explosive route. This 5km course with a 500m positive elevation gain will be offered to runners, finishing in the heart of the Trophée d’Auguste in La Turbie (classified as a historic monument).

The courses will also be very diverse, passing through small typical villages of the hinterland, undergrowth, and high mountain ridges at nearly 3,000m altitude. The beauty of the landscapes will accompany the athletes’ feats with breathtaking views of the coastline and mountains, allowing participants to appreciate the true richness of the Côte d’Azur territory.

International Level Elites

This year, Pau Capell, one of the current world references in the discipline and winner of the UTMB® 2019, as well as the Ultra Trail World Tour®, will be at the start of the 50km course. On the French side, Benoit Girondel, two-time winner of the Diagonale des Fous and the 75km of the UTCAM 2021, will return for this 2022 edition in the main 125km event.
