On Tuesday, August 24, during the CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Warner Bros revealed the title of Matrix 4 as well as the first trailer.
The fourth installment of the saga will be titled The Matrix Resurrections. It follows Matrix (1999), Matrix Reloaded (2003), and Matrix Revolutions (2003). This installment is once again written by *Lana Wachowski*.
Only professionals present at the festival were able to view the film’s trailer. According to journalists from The Hollywood Reporter and Entertainment Weekly, the trailer opens with Neo (played by *Keanu Reeves*) at his therapist (played by *Neil Patrick Harris*). Moreover, our famous hero seems to have lost his memory and no longer remembers the matrix. Even more troubling, he does not recognize Trinity (played by *Carrie Ann Moss*) when he encounters her in a cafรฉ. Finally, a new character appears, played by *Yahya Abdul-Mateen*. He gives the hero a red pill, before whispering to him “it’s time to fly.”

The film is scheduled for release on December 15, 2021. The official trailer should be coming soon!
