The opening of the new Nice Saint-Augustin railway station will be the first step in the evolution of the future transport hub project in the west of Nice.
The new temporary Nice Saint-Augustin station will open on September 1, 2022. It represents the first step of this major transportation development project in the west of Nice. This project aims to ease traffic by offering travelers optimized connections to different public transport options at a single multimodal exchange hub.
Starting Thursday, trains will no longer stop in front of the current station on Avenue Edouard-Grinda but will instead stop on the platform along Boulevard Renรฉ-Cassin, above Avenue Maรฎtre Maurice-Slama. Below is the “Grand Arรฉnas” stop, which connects to the city center, the west of Nice with the stadium, and the airport via tram lines 2 and 3. This new location will thus enable an interconnection between TER lines, the tram network, and Nice Cรดte d’Azur Airport, and thereby provide better connectivity with tram lines 2 and 3.
All these changes will be complemented by a semi-underground bus station in the first half of 2023.
