From October 10th to 21st, Mental Health Information Weeks will take place. The city of Nice is mobilizing to promote the major issues of mental health and well-being.
For several years, Nice has been working to develop a caring culture regarding mental health. As part of the Mental Health Information Week, the city of Nice, together with its partners, is organizing workshops, conferences, film debates, as well as other activities throughout the event period.
1 in 4 people worldwide is affected by a mental health disorder. Impacting well-being, this makes it as important a notion as physical health. With good mental health, any individual can overcome daily stresses, and succeed both personally and professionally.
Since 1990, the Mental Health Information Weeks (SISM) have represented a national event. They allow for:
- Raising awareness among the public about mental health issues.
- Informing based on an annual theme about various approaches to mental health.
- Bringing together through this communication effort, stakeholders and spectators from the professional events and mental health users.
- Helping in the development of networks of solidarity, reflection, and care.
- Making known the places, resources, and people who can provide support or
local information.
The theme of this 2022 edition focuses on the physical dimension of our environment, which includes:
- Everyoneโs immediate environment: housing.
- The broader environment: community planning (quality of infrastructure and public transport network, presence and access to nature or biodiversity).
- An even more distant environment: our planet and the current ecological crisis.
The event is open to all but requires registration. For more information: https://www.nice.fr/fr/l-agenda/semaines-d-information-sur-la-sante-mentale?type=events
