Through a Twitter post, the deputy from the Alpes-Maritimes called on the Minister of the Interior to take action in the Nice neighborhood.
“In the Moulins neighborhood in Nice, individuals are walking around and controlling the area with weapons, apparently an assault rifle and a pistol,” posted Eric Ciotti on his Twitter account this Sunday.
In a video accompanying the tweet, several masked and armed men can be seen in the neighborhood located west of Nice. Likely involved in the drug trafficking that particularly affects the area, the men appear tense but seem to act with calmness as if they were masters of the neighborhood.
This shocking video does not ease the tensions and debates about insecurity in Moulins. In response to such actions, Eric Ciotti directly addressed the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin, asking him “to deploy all available means to reclaim this neighborhood.”
The State and the Municipality should not remain without response. We can expect activity in the Moulins neighborhood in the coming weeks.
