Itโs that time again for the selection of five new movie releases for this week. As always, we offer you a varied selection of films for all cinema-lovers’ desires for discovery.
1. Colors of the Fire by Clovis Cornillac
Clovis Cornillac finally adapts the eponymous novel by Pierre Lemaitre to the big screen. Part of a trilogy, this bestseller is the sequel to the novel See You Up There, which was also adapted for the big screen by Albert Dupontel in 2017. The film promises an impressive historical reconstruction of Paris in the 20th century. We hope to soon see an adaptation of the final part of this trilogy, Mirror of Our Sorrows. Until then, this film promises to be astonishing.
2. Charlotte by Eric Warin and Tahir Rana
This animated film was part of the official selection at the 2022 Annecy Festival. With its stunning visuals, the plot takes us through World War II. We follow the destiny of Charlotte, a young Jewish and German painter, who embarks on the work of her life following a life-altering family revelation. A film that promises to be magnificent, a must-see.
3. Armageddon Time by James Gray
Here’s the long-awaited new film from the talented James Gray. After The Lost City of Z (2016), and Ad Astra (2019), the director returns with a much more personal film. It is the coming-of-age story of a young boy living in the Queens neighborhood during the 1980s. The film focuses on family relationships (as in the directorโs previous films), while offering a focused vision of the American dream. A promising film with a five-star cast, notably Anne Hathaway and Anthony Hopkins.
4. The Mornings After by Loรฏc Paillard
This film tells the story of family members who had lost touch but end up finding each other after many years. A warm and touching film, offering performances where the actors are in perfect harmony with each other. A human story that is sure to make you smile.

The surprising Albert Serra returns with his new film. It is an espionage drama, promising an unexpected blend.
