It has been exactly 15 years since tram line 1 was inaugurated. To mark the occasion, a celebration is planned for the weekend of November 18th and 19th by the city of Nice.
The Mayor will meet with the employees of the Lignes d’Azur transport authority this Friday, November 18th at 6 PM at the Operational Center of line 1. This will mark the occasion of the 15th anniversary of this tram line’s inauguration. Line 1 allows over 100,000 travelers daily to move between the North and East districts of the city, while also serving the city center and the famous old town. For this celebration, you can participate in numerous activities offered by the city of Nice.
Saturday, November 19th from 9:30 AM
- Visit to the Operational Center of tram line 1 (by registration at patrimoine@lignesdazur.fr). You will have the chance to visit the maintenance workshop of tram line 1. An activity for both young and old.
- Place Masséna from 11 AM. The Lignes d’Azur teams will present line 1, providing more insight into the entire public transport network. The history of trams in Nice will be recounted by the Tram and Bus Association of the Côte d’Azur, and goodies will be distributed to network subscribers.
- The Heritage of neighborhoods highlighted at tram stops. At the Saint-Roch and Valrose Université stops, you will have the opportunity to relive the history of these typical Nice neighborhoods. The heritage of the city’s districts will be highlighted through these tram stops.
