Latest News

The Covid-19 incidence rate has remained around 90 cases per 100,000 inhabitants for a week in the Alpes-Maritimes, while it is dropping almost everywhere else in France. “We are on a stable level, a rate to monitor,” according to the ARS.

For the record, it had reached a peak of 650 at the beginning of August. The department ranks second among the most affected departments in mainland France. Furthermore, testing has not increased today: on the contrary, the number has risen to 50,000 tests per week compared to 80,000 in August.

“Currently, we have ten patients in intensive care units compared to 60 at the height of the crisis at the beginning of August.” โ€“ Romain Alexandre, departmental delegate of the regional health agency, adds, “Romain Alexandre emphasizes that we must not relent on Covid preventive measures.”

Among the positive points is the vaccination rate in the department: 95% of those over 12 have received at least one dose in the Alpes-Maritimes, but the 12/17 age group is lower than elsewhere at 66%.
