The number of daily hospitalizations for patients with Covid-19 has almost stopped decreasing in the past few days, stabilizing around 190. It has decreased by “only” 8% in one week, compared to 28% in early October.
The epidemic continues to circulate at a low level in France, but the government has made the health pass a cornerstone of its strategy, with the possibility of extending it until July 31, 2022, if the situation requires it.
According to the latest report from Public Health France, 6,601 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized in the country, including 219 who were admitted to the hospital in the last 24 hours.
With 58 new admissions to critical care units since Tuesday, 1,091 people are being treated in these units reserved for the most severe cases. There were 5,578 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours, a number that has been slightly increasing for several days.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, 117,145 people have died from it in France.
