OGCN: Who will replace Didier Digard?

Latest News

While the departure of Didier Digard seems to be confirmed, we had fun imagining who the future coach of the Gym will be. Here is a list of coaches who might interest the Gym’s management.

Rudi Garcia

Fired by the Saudi club Al Nassr, where he spent several months alongside the five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, the French technician would be a good option. Thanks to his knowledge of Ligue 1, where he coached for 11 seasons with a championship title in 2011 with LOSC. Additionally, his ability to transform his teams into winning machines, as seen with Lille and AS Roma. Rudi Garcia is also reputed for getting the best out of his players.ย ย ย ย ย ย

Graham Potter

Having been through Brighton, Swansea, and more recently Chelsea, he seems to be the favorite to succeed Didier Digard. Known for implementing an offensive style of play in the Premier League, the 48-year-old Brit made his mark in the Swedish league. It was by bringing ร–stersunds up from the third to the first division in five seasons that the technician made a name for himself.

Rรฉgis Le Bris

Uncertain about his future, the coach of FC Lorient is an option to consider for OGCN. Although under contract until the end of the 2027 season, the coach of the Merlus would not be happy with the departure of many key players from his squad. In his first season at the helm of a top-tier club, the Breton made a name for himself by leading his team to 10th place in the league.

Philippe Clement

Recently ousted by AS Monaco, the Belgian coach possesses solid experience, particularly thanks to his European journey with FC Bruges and his three group stage participations in as many years. A journey dotted with various achievements against Rรฉal Madrid, FC Leipzig, or Lazio Roma. It remains to be seen whether his rather authoritarian personality will suit the Azurian directors.ย

Antoine Kombouarรฉ

As we knew, the situation was very tense between the Canaries coach and his president Waldemar Kita. A difficult context that led Antoine Kombouarรฉ to slam the door just before the end of the season. Appreciated for his ability to unite his group, he also proved his worth during the arrival of Qatar at PSG by achieving very good results.ย ย

Andrรฉ Villas Boas

A well-known name in France after his more or less successful stint at Olympique de Marseille. That was also his last experience as a coach (2019-2021). The Portuguese technician could be a good option, leveraging his international experience. Whether at Porto, Chelsea, Tottenham, Zenit Saint Petersburg, or OM, the “Special Two” has often achieved significant results in European cups. An important factor to consider in the future to develop the club’s ambition.ย ย ย ย ย
