The snow season is approaching and we are looking for ways to boost winter tourism.

The COVID crisis has sparked interest in cross-country skiing, an outdoor sport and a prime way to oxygenate.

“By joining the Nordic sites of the Alpes-de-Haute Provence and Hautes-Alpes departments, the aim is to strengthen the resources implemented for the benefit of Nordic disciplines within our territory,” states Charles Ange Ginรฉsy, president of the Departmental Council 06, during the signing of the agreement with Nordic France, represented by Marine Michel, Vice-president of the Hautes-Alpes Department in charge of Sports. This will harmonize the activities of the Nordic resorts in the Alpes-Maritimes with those of other sites in France.

A fervent advocate of these disciplines, President Charles Ange Ginรฉsy wished to initiate, at the end of 2017, a policy to revitalize the Maralpin Nordic sites, in partnership with the Nordic Alpes du Sud association. A series of expert assessments was conducted and highlighted the strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for the development of the sector.
