Villeneuve-Loubet: the Escoffier Museum, a true house of culinary art

Latest News

Created 50 years ago, the Escoffier Museum of Culinary Art is none other than the birthplace of Auguste Escoffier, one of the greatest chefs in French gastronomy. Humanist, inventive, and visionary, he is considered a true master for the chefs of today and tomorrow. Nestled in the heart of the village of Villeneuve-Loubet (just a few kilometers from Nice) in an 18th-century Provenรงal house, the museum invites you to explore the rooms he once occupied.

As the only museum dedicated to culinary art in France, it offers no fewer than ten exhibition rooms spread over 300 square meters for visitors to explore, blending personal memories and belongings of the great chef, old kitchen furniture, magnificent sugar and chocolate sculptures, and even an impressive collection of menus!

Due to its exceptional character, the house has just been awarded the label “Maison des Illustres” by the Ministry of Culture and Communication.
