It was to be expected. You canโt make an omelet without breaking eggs. While the tunnel boring machine was under Boulevard Victor Hugo, between Jean Mรฉdecin station and Alsace Lorraine station, a rupture in the pipe that supplies bentonite (a mixture of clay slurry) to the machine occurred, causing a drop in pressure at the front of the cutting wheel, which resulted in a road subsidence.
The municipality immediately reacted: “This is a minor incident for which the company is prepared, and it has immediately taken the necessary corrective measures.
The problems observed concern the roadway and sidewalks which have experienced subsidence. However, the instruments that operate continuously indicate no impact on the surrounding buildings,” a statement said.
More skeptical is the comment from Patrick Allemand, who asks the uncomfortable question: “Subsidence of Boulevard Victor Hugo: What is happening?”
Which is followed by a request that raises suspicion: “To prevent growing concern, I am asking the Mayor of Nice for complete transparency.”
Is the opposition questioning the truthfulness of the official statements?
